Technology plays an important role in education. “Frankie Lemmon is recognized for incorporating technology and innovation into our curriculum, which we look forward to bringing to a broader audience of children with special needs in our community,” said Traci Cortez.

Last year, celito enjoyed working with Frankie Lemmon to develop IT solutions for their new location. Our techs were proud to use their expertise to implement a new IT system for Frankie Lemmon, including free fiber installation and hardware for broadband access. We are committed to ongoing support by providing our celitoFiber and celitoVoice services at a discounted rate.

About Frankie Lemmon

Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center is a nonprofit whose mission is to help preschool and kindergarten children with special needs achieve their full potential. Barry Gardner, the Chair of Frankie Lemmon Foundation’s Board of Directors said, “We are extremely excited to truly expand our enrollment for special needs children at FLS. Our new facility will allow us to grow and to offer some new programs for the families of Wake County.”

Wake County is home to over 2500 children with Special Needs. Talina Velazquez at Frankie Lemmon said, “Frankie Lemmon School was formerly located in donated space in Hayes Barton Church. After 50 years, we are now in our own building! The new school’s capacity is 124. We are overjoyed to finally be in our new home. This would not have been possible without the tremendous love and support from our community, including the wonderful team at celito.”

Here are just a few things we love about Frankie Lemmon School:

  • Each child gets an individualized education plan (IEP)
  • “Whole language” teaching program
  • Full-time speech and occupational therapists
  • Free tuition
  • Free transportation, provided by Wake County Schools
