The 2016-2017 Season, A Feast for the Senses, will feature a world premiere ballet by Choreographer in Residence, Zalman Raffael, set to Debussy’s La Mer as well as classic favorites like Don Quixote and The Little Mermaid. This year also marks the 15th Anniversary of Carolina Ballet’s annual holiday tradition, The Nutcracker. With shows for opera lovers, music lovers, and children of all ages, there is truly something for everyone on the program this season!
Celebrate the holidays with Carolina Ballet
This Thanksgiving weekend Carolina Ballet brings back the fan-favorite, Carmina Burana, choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett! Featuring live music by The North Carolina Master Chorale this ballet explores love, greed and obsession to Carl Orff’s pulsating score as the wheel of fortune spins in the contemporary setting of Wall Street.
December marks the return of everyone’s holiday favorite, The Nutcracker with performances across the Triangle throughout the month of December. With illusions created by world-renowned magician, Rick Thomas, you’ll marvel as characters levitate, disappear, and reappear before your very eyes.
